Finch News began
publication with the founding of the
Queensland Finch Society Inc in 1969.
In its original form it consisted of a
photocopied sheet ... how times have
changed!
The magazine is now published monthly
and includes 24 pages of articles and
four pages of colour photos. It is
posted to many countries around the
world.
Each issue contains essential
information about the Society,
including Meeting details, Stock
Market (Buy, Swap & Sell) and the
Sales Table.
Along with the wealth of general finch
articles, Finch Profile and Aviary of
the Month prove to be popular
sections. Articles are submitted from
around the world by aviculturists of
all types, ages and experiences. The
magazine works as a blending ground
for avicultural thoughts, methods and
myths.
Displayed to the right is the current
cover of the magazine, which runs for
12 months. Each year a competition is
held in order to select the next
year's cover. The photographs are
taken by aviculturists for
aviculturists.

subscribing to FINCH NEWS &
becoming a QFS Member there are 3 ways
you can do it!
Subscriptions are
quoted in Australian dollars and
payment must be in Australian dollars-
AUD$40.00 per year (within Australia)
and AUD$55.00 per year (Outside
Australia). On-line payments are
processed via PayPal using your credit
card. Please download the "Print
Version" if you wish to pay by cheque
or money order. Please DO NOT send
cash through the postal system as this
is illegal.
Your membership is
approved subject to approval from the
committee of the QFS at the next
monthly committee meeting held the
last Friday of each month, as per the
club's constitution.
